2:42 I don’t know whether to feel sorry or honored for Ra’s after he told Batman he was proud of him. Don’t get me wrong he’s is an irredeemable person because of Protocol 10 but when he told Batman he was proud of him for making the right choice it just left me not knowing how to feel.

Those who say batman would've or should've saved him are stupid. Even saying that not saving him is killing him is moronic. Everyone dies, even those who bypass death with magic will eventually die. Batman saves people in the favor of justice, he's not god, he can't decide if someone's time has come or not. Ra's is dying of old age and that's the cycle of nature, saving him with a magical cheat is like saying I know better than the universe and I decide to interfere to satisfy my own personal sense of morality and heroism.

This is the better ending. He doesn't "kill" him, just removes the life support, letting him die a natural death. And having Ra's get one final "Fuck you" moment is the perfect conclusion to it.

Honest I'm so happy this was an option because Batman's no kill rule in this instance would take more lives than save. Fuck the code if it meant I was the reason to let a monster live just because of my morals. Came back to this game after 8 years to finally play NG+ and carch up on the story for Suicide Squad.. I chose to destroy the machine both times in my regular game and NG+. However, I think that's the more canonicle decision to destroy it? Mainly because there's a cell made for him to be in. Either or.. Hopefully we don't see him in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

I don’t think there was a right/wrong ending or a good/bad ending. If you destroy the machine, Ra’s eventually will die and if you save him, Nyssa dies. But if you destroy the machine, you don’t really kill Ra’s, he dies naturally (I’m assuming) and Nyssa lives on. I think I saved Ra’s during my play through but I’m thinking that destroying the machine is the better option in my opinion.

My first run through I chose to give the cure.. but on every run after that I always destroyed the machine. Alfred hinted to let him die. Nyssa is apparently trustworthy enough by Batman's standards. So it feels canon to destroy the machine.

I think what really sets this up is the conversation Batman has with Alfred prior to this. Alfred knows and encourages Bruce to save lives above all else. To never kill. But Alfred also brings up a good point. The point being that Ra's can't technically be considered human anymore. That dude has died God knows how many times and has come back every single time. On top of that, Ra's has done unspeakable things in the pursuit of bringing shape to his ideals. In other words, letting Ra's die is easily the best decision for all concerned. But also, even though Bruce doesn't say it... If he were to let Ra's die this time, Ra's wouldn't come back from this. Again, he doesn't say it, but you know he's thinking "Ra's has died a billion times over, sure, but in the end, were I to go through with this... I would be the one who finally ended him." And then the choice comes up. Do you save him, thus putting more lives in danger? And if so, doesn't that technically mean Talia died for nothing? Or do you, just this one time, end a life as Batman, saving so many more lives because one monster finally departed? Ngl, I still get teary-eyed when Bruce carries Ra's to Gotham PD, and he tells Batman "Detective... proud of you."

This is a way better ending than the other

This is the one time I think Batman should be fine with killing someone. Ra’s is losing control of himself from the Lazarus, and he’ll hurt a lot more people if he’s left alive, but Ra’s is also fine with dying because he knows the Lazarus is mentally killing him and removing what remains of him, which is why I think Ra’s wanted Batman to kill him, to prevent himself from succumbing too far to the effects of the Lazarus pits. Letting him live honors his code, but make Ra’s an even bigger threat and makes him slaughter many of the loyalists and rebels, as well as many innocents on top of making him a mindless monster, but killing him not only saves people but is want Ra’s wants, because he knows he won’t be himself if he continues to get Lazarus put into him
